The Camel

Once upon a time in a small desert town lived a camel.

All day every day for 10 years, the camel served as a beast of burden for his masters.

Ever since the day he was strong enough to carry a load, his sole reason for being was to give every ounce of his strength to carry massive loads without any free time, because he was the only one strong and capable enough to hold the weight.

Deep in his heart, the camel knew something else was possible for him. But then the fearful thoughts would creep in…

What would I do if I ever did break free anyways? How would I survive?

Day after day, he suppressed his inner knowing.

And day after day, that wisdom in him hardened a little more into resentment and regret.

One night, as he laid down in a heap of hay after a long day of work, he was again visited by his inner knowing - this time felt as a strange aching in his heart and a ball of tension in his throat.

He slipped off into a mysterious sleep where he was graced in dreams by a gorgeous Golden Unicorn. A Pegasus, she shone like a miracle in the sky, providing abundance to all who gazed upon her beauty.

The camel felt himself falling in love with this Pegasus… But knew he could never be with such a divine creature. Plus she probably didn’t even exist in real life, he figured.

The dream faded the next morning and he returned with a grimace back to his aching body and life full of uninspired obligation in the same old stable he had lived in for years.

But this morning, as he first opened his eyes for the day, a single ray of golden sunrise streamed in through the one window in the stable.

He froze, spellbound by the mysticism of the moment as he found himself transfixed on the sight of the rising sun far away in the desert through the window.

The aching in his heart felt like it had caught fire. The hair on his neck stood on end as he leapt to his feet with a youthful energy he hadn’t felt in years.

He had watched that sunrise a thousand times over that distant mountain, which stood between the small town and the rest of the kingdom where the pyramid was.

But this time, something in the light rays made him sure that he was meant to follow this sunrise.

The knot in his throat felt bigger and tighter than ever as he carefully slipped his head out of the knotted rope tied to the pole.

Before any of his Masters woke up, he trotted silently out of the barn door, out of the village and into the desert.

Alone.

100 steps out of the town’s main gate, he paused as it occurred to him that he could turn back to a guaranteed meal and a safe place to sleep at night.

He knew that if he turned back after his Masters woke up, he would be punished relentlessly for escaping and they would tie the rope around his neck much tighter every night.

But the thought of continuing to haul stones and grain around the town full of miserable people for the rest of his life, never knowing what was on the other side of that mountain and never following that inner knowing in his heart was far more terrifying than death.

After all, the camel had completed all of his missions in that town for a decade. He had done everything he was supposed to do.

He wasn’t excited anymore about being the biggest or strongest camel in the town who the other farm animals respected.

And his soul was exhausted.

His wisdom had no outlet.

And he knew also that if he continued, he may die of thirst or starvation.

So in the biggest act of defiance of his whole life, he decided that if following his truth meant he would die, then the world wasn’t worth living in anyways.

He deserved to experience something more.

A deeper dimension of something. A possibility for a different kind of feeling of life.

He spent two hot days and three cold nights all alone, living off the remaining nutrients stored in his humps.

Then on the third day, the camel squinted at the horizon at what looked like an oasis!

He swore he saw trees, with birds flying around what appeared to be a small natural spring.

As he approached excitedly, though, the trees seemed to evaporate and the birds disappeared.

He stood next to a large boulder confused.

Until the ground began to tremble and the boulder moved until its outer layer peeled off and cast into the sky.

With horror, the camel realized that the boulder was actually a sleeping dragon, casting a magical lure for prey like him to wander into what they thought was a watering hole.

The camel was too terrified to move, and knew that he had no chance to outrun this flying carnivorous monster anyways.

The dragon stood tall on its hind legs and let out a horrifying screech as it stretched its lizard wings into the air, temporarily blocking out the sun in a show of force.

With menacing teeth and bristling horns and shiny scales was the most impressive and terrifying thing the camel had ever seen.

All of the fears the camel had ever known came bursting to the surface of his awareness.

“I should never have come out here”

“I don’t want to die like this”

“My whole life was for nothing”

“What will my Masters think when I never return”

“Will this hurt?”

His whole body was trembling. He could barely contain all of the panic in him all at once.

But oddly, the knot in his throat seemed to have gone.

Sure that he was going to die, he realized that he had a choice to make:

Either turn and attempt to make a frenzied dash back to the life that had enslaved him but was safe,

Or

Look this dragon dead in the eye and continue his quest for truth. Even if it killed him right now.

He felt the depth of inner knowing tell him what he already knew:

That nothing behind him was worth living for anyways.

He was now only a few feet from the fire breathing mouth that was about to incinerate him and enjoy him as a snack.

As the dragon curled its massive head back in preparation to blast the camel with deadly flame, in one last act of defiance the camel stood tall, breathed deep, and released the most ferocious roar it could possibly muster straight into the dragon’s face as the fires began to ignite deep in the dragon’s throat.

But as the camel let out this roar, he felt a surge of electrifying life force blast through his hooves and up into his heart, through all his humps into his throat and out his mouth.

The sound he heard come out of him was simultaneously more ferocious and powerful and sincere and honest and true than anything he had ever heard.

Like a crystalline symphony of heart energy put into a single roaring chorus.

Like the sound of an angel he he had always thought was inside of him but he had just now found in himself.

He felt his soul be liberated by the expression of this Divine Roar, feeling all of his fear and panic disappear as he completely accepted his fate.

To the camel’s amazement, the fire in the throat of the dragon extinguished.

The mouth of the dragon closed.

The camel ran out of breath and the Divine Roar subsided as the the dragon began to smirk.

The camel noticed an oddly friendly look in the dragon’s eye as the dragon gave one symbolic approving nod and turned his head to bring his eye inches from the camel’s face.

The eyes that once held a menacing snare now served as a huge, infinite mirror for the camel to see himself.

To the camel’s amazement, he did not see a camel in the reflection.

Instead, he saw a full grown lion, covered in a royal golden chest plate with a mane bristling with crystals, with surging muscles and elegant white feathered wings stretched back relaxed and behind his deep, present and confident stare.

For the first time, the camel understood who he really had always been.

He had transformed his fear, stood in the face of death and allowed his courage to completely transform him.

To be sure it wasn’t a trick in the eye of the dragon, the camel turned to look back at his body.

indeed, the camel was no more. He now stood as a strong, powerful and confident winged lion.

The dragon brushed his great lizardy wing against the feathers of one of the lion’s wings, instantly transmitting to the lion the memory of how to fly.

With a great surge of power, the dragon leapt into the air and flapped his huge wings and became a distant spec in the sky.

When the dust settled, the golden winged lion looked in front of him in the sand where he noticed a single holographic scale from the dragon’s body.

He crouched down to look into the scale to read the message it displayed.

From one angle, the scale read “I will”. The winged lion 🦁 moved the scale with his paw so the desert sun could shine from another angle on it.

The words “I will” disappeared, and in their place he saw the word “trust”.

He tilted the scale back and forth, fascinated by the complimentary depth of the message read both ways.

Trust I will.

I will trust.

Trust I will

I will trust

Deeply humbled and grateful for the experience, the winged lion faced the sun and knelt down in prayer, tears streaming from his eyes.

He spoke out loud asking the Sun what he could do to repay the gift he was just given by the dragon.

Instantly he received the knowledge from the sun in his mind and his heart…

“The dragon only mirrored what was already true in you. You faced your fears with all of your heart and realized that the only dragon you ever need to slay is in yourself. And you can only slay it with the devotion of love, which requires courage.

The golden winged lion then asked the sun, now with his heart rather than his words, “Will I be like this forever?” With these wings and this amazing body?

Immediately he felt the reply, “ As long as you keep your wisdom in service to the highest and best good of all, with a clear mind and open heart, you will remain the golden winged lion. But whenever you find yourself suppressing your true feelings, you’ll feel your power disappear. You will no longer be able to fly and you will be seen by everyone around you as a camel again. With great devotion, comes great power.”

So how do I make sure I stay on the devoted path of service? How can I best stay on the path?

You must define your prayer. Define the vision you have for the whole world perfected and then swear your life to the prayer of that vision manifesting.

The golden winged lion remained silent for a moment, considering deeply what he wanted for the entire world.

World peace? Everyone fed? Happy children?

All of these were components of his vision…

But he took a deep breath and dropped deeper into his heart to find a phrase that captured the essence of an even fuller truth manifesting throughout all of the sad humans and sad animals he had come across in his life.

Then it came to him.

“I welcome infinite love, joy and abundance for all beings, now and for all generations to come.”

I pray for infinite love, joy and abundance for all beings now and for all generations to come.

As he repeated this phrase in his heart he felt his wings surge with energy.

He started stretching them while repeating his prayer, and with a mighty surge of power he flapped his wings for the first time and leapt into the air, soaring effortlessly into the crisp deset sky.

He flew over the mountain and for the first time in his life glimpsed the pyramid of the kingdom in the distance - its pillar of light emanating from the crystal capstone on the top of it.

As he soared through the air towards the pyramid and the kingdom surrounding it, he felt a deep ancient knowing emerge in him.

He approached the great pyramid and landed gently directly on the top of the pyramid’s crystal capstone. He began to pray his prayer with all of his heart, repeatedly, until he began to feel the pyramid tremble from deep within.

Silently, he continued praying his prayer, surrendering every ounce of disbelief he had about what he was doing into the light of the Sun.

Slowly, the pyramid began responding first with a murmur and then a ground-shaking tremble.

From the sacred aquifers deep beneath the base of the pyramid came a surge of divine energy the world had not felt for thousands of years.

The citizens of the kingdom had prophesized about the day that the golden winged lion would arrive to bless the whole world. But none of them believed they would see it with their own eyes.

As the citizens felt these tremors coming from the pyramid they all stopped what they were doing to turn and look up at the fulfillment of the prophesy.

They looked through tears and amazement to see the golden winged lion, perched atop the pyramid, with the pure light from the capstone engulfing his crystal mane with a shimmering lightshow of cosmic radiance.

In that moment, the lion felt the fear that came from thousands of eyes on him, and again that same surging of life force energy come up through his legs like he felt when he was a camel facing the dragon.

Except this time he remembered his prayer.

He knew how to stand and look deep into the eyes of the dragon of fear within him. Everyone in the kingdom was now watching him, but he knew who he was and why he was here.

So completely unrestricted and unrestrained, he allowed the energy of the pyramid to course through his legs and into every cell of his body and open his throat and then his mouth to be transmitted into a Divine Cosmic Roar, unlike anything the Universe had ever heard.

A wall of mystical light blasted from the pyramid around the whole kingdom.

As that light reached the heart of every man, woman and child in the kingdom, their hearts erupted with love and joy like they had enver experienced before.

As this energy surged through the feet of every person in the kingdom, it moved up into their hearts and opened their throats and their mouths..

Each one of them let out a rejoice, sometimes a song and sometimes a cry and sometimes a roar of their own.

Laughter deafened the city.

One by one they all returned their gaze to the pyramid, where the golden winged lion leapt into the air and surged his massive wings to fly off into the sun.

As he flew into the sun, he looked behind him to watch as the pyramid harnessed all of the infinite love and joy emanating from the hearts of the kingdom and sent that energy cascading upwards in a mesmerizing column of rainbow light, straight up into the atmosphere into the magnetic field of the Earth far above the land.

The sky erupted in a rainbow illumination of the earth’s magnetic forcefield which spread outwards until it was all you could see anywhere you looked up from the kingdom.

When he turned his head back towards the sun, he couldn’t believe his eyes as the Golden Unicorn Pegasus from his dream appeared before him.

His heart ignited with pure love, he flew to her and embraced her soul in his eyes.

They both remembered in that moment that they had always been lovers, and had finally found each other again after thousands of years.

At once the Golden Pegasus took to the sky and flew far above the magnetic field of the Earth, daring the winged lion to follow her.

The lion was scared at first because he wasn’t sure he could fly that high, but by now he knew what to do with fear.

He repeated his prayer with all of his heart…

Infinite love, joy and abundance for all beings now and for all generations to come.

Far above the Earth hovering next to the love of his soul, the winged lion gazed lovingly at the gorgeous Golden Pegasus against the infinite backdrop of space.

The Golden Pegasus nodded to suggest that the winged lion look back at the Earth, where he was amazed to see the dormant pyramids from all corners of the world, built by civilizations past and present, begin sending a pillar of light to the magnetic field.

One by one, as the rainbow from the activated pyramid in the desert made its way across the magnetic field to reach the vertical white lights from the other pyramids, were ready to receive the rainbow orchestra, as if they had been waiting for thousands of years for this moment.

When the magnetic rainbow touched the white column, rainbow energy poured down the column and into the pyramid.

All of the people in every kingdoms were illuminated with infinite love and joy, letting out a rejoice of their own.

Now with every pyramid on earth activated with infinite love, joy and abundance, the magnetic field of the earth distributed the energy to the north and south poles where it began returning to the center of the earth, providing cosmic CPR to a planet that had long been waiting for this moment.

As the soul of the Earth was replenished and rejuvenated, all of the fields turned green with life. Flocks of rainbow birds returned to all of the forests and wheat sprouted 10 feet tall in every farm.

The whole world healed, with the rivers running clean and the land turning green

All of the oceans erupted with joyful marine creatures.

And the world lived joyfully ever after, never forgetting the power of courage to awaken Infinite Love.
